The following pictures show an area of the room where the floorboards were particularly bad before renovation.

The floor needed several new boards (reclaimed timber) to be replaced, then it was sanded and sealed using a water based varnish.

Gaps were filled between some of the boards in the worst places; the timber was not stained, just left a natural colour.
