Wood Floor Renovation Services

Finlay and Son have been renovating wood floors for nearly 40 years in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and adjacent areas including, some years ago, North and West London.

At the end of November ’23 we decided the time was right to retire from sanding floors.

For a while now we have been working closely with Adam from HBC Floor Sanding. We are therefore pleased to recommend him for any work you may be considering. He covers most of the same locations that we did and all the same physical aspects of wood floor renovation too.

Please do get in touch – via the form below, or on the numbers and email address above and we will do our best to guide you to the best solution. Thank you.

Renovation of wooden floors

Over the last 40 years we have been renovating wooden floors for both commercial and residential customers.

Focusing mainly on domestic customers of recent times we have been privileged to carry out the transformation, repair and renovation of many different types of wooden floors including using environmentally friendly floor lacquers and hard wax oils. Repairs have been completed using new and reclaimed wood; gap filling between boards and the supply and fitting of thresholds, beading, scotia and custom made fireplace surrounds to name just a few of the activities we have undertaken.

Staining the floor to a different colour has always been a popular option, so if you need us to check back through our records, please do ask, we have got a fairly comprehensive record of colours and floor seals that have been used on each project.

We would like to thank all of our customers and assure you that any questions you may have will receive the same courteous and prompt reply, even if we can’t offer to help you with any new projects in the future.

Our Latest Work

A lovely oak wood strip floor we worked on recently in Cambridgeshire.

Once the floor had been sanded back to it’s natural colour, we used a Bona Intense Primer to give some depth back to the appearance and then sealed with the durable Bona Mega. A great combination of primer and top coat with a very satisfying result showing the classic characteristics of the oak flooring.
